Ian Land: Prints and Books

Island of Strangers

In 2019 I released a book, Land of Cockaigne, a collection of photographs taken on walks along the coast from my home in Hastings to London during the years of the Brexit referendum and its aftermath, from 2016 to 2019. Island of Strangers is a kind of sequel to that book, this time documenting a series of walks taking me from Dover to Portsmouth between 2022 and 2025. These two towns are the busiest passenger ports on the Channel coast of the south of England, and, post-Brexit, this coastline has become the border between England and the European Union, both as a matter of geography and, for a significant minority of English people, as a matter of national identity.

Hardback, A4 sized, 108 pages. With an introduction by Colin Booth.

Pre-order for a discounted price, £15.00 rather than the cover price of £20.00. Pre-orders will be posted in early July.
